Q: What is your payment policy for vinyl records?
A: As collectors first and resellers second, we offer competitive rates for records that are rare and in excellent condition, which we have been actively seeking.  Unlike other buyers who aim to acquire your records at the lowest cost for profit, our approach is to offer up to 100% of the market value for records that are exceptionally rare and in collectible condition.  For common records, the value is typically nominal unless they are in immaculate condition.

Q: Do you purchase all types of vinyl records?
A: We consider all vinyl records you wish to sell.  However, seven-inch (7") 45RPM singles rarely hold significant value and are often donated or sold at minimal cost.  If you believe you have a valuable 7" record, we encourage you to contact us.

A: Maintaining the integrity of your collection is crucial.  Removing select records often devalues the remaining collection.  Similarly, selling individual records at garage or yard sales can lead to the loss of valuable items, leaving behind a collection with diminished worth.  We aim to purchase entire collections based on their overall merit, avoiding selective buying.

Q: Considering the weight of records, do you offer home visits?
A: Our decision to visit you depends on the size and quality of your collection.  We may travel across Canada for exceptional collections but will assess each situation individually.  Our offers account for our travel and operational expenses.

A: We prefer conducting transactions in public places, at your home, or at a collector's residence for security and assessment reasons.  Transactions in parking lots are not conducive to proper evaluation and carry a risk of appearing unprofessional.

Q: Should I research my record collection before selling?
A: While research may seem beneficial, it's often extremely misleading and it's more efficient to consult with us directly.  We are an Ontario network of record collectors/buyers, not a single entity, and we know various realities of records in this market.  Caution should be made regarding 'list' prices online; whereas often those 'list' prices are not based on anything other than a layperson seeing what 700+ other laypeople have 'listed' an item for.  Actual (real) selling prices are based upon supply-demand including how often a particular record pressing actually sells.  Further; listings and condition assessments are better left to experts familiar with market demand.  We can usually evaluate a collection swiftly or provide a timeline for a comprehensive assessment.

Researching online almost always gives a far misleading idea of potential values, whereas actual occurring sale prices and market demand are more indicative of a record's worth.  Remember, listings on platforms like Discogs reflect only hoped-for prices, not what buyers are actually willing to pay.  We're open to discussing your findings and letting you go through the process of selling each of your items, one at a time, independently, if that is the pricing method/benchmark that you choose to pursue.

Q: What's the best way to sell rare records?
A: Platforms like Discogs and eBay can be suitable for piece-meal selling of highly rare items to a global audience.  However, consider the effort involved in individual sales, packaging, and dealing with potential buyer issues.  We recommend assessing whether the unique aspects of your records truly stand out on these platforms.  For those with a small number of rare items, selling through such channels might be viable, but for larger collections, the effort and costs of piecemeal selling will often outweigh the benefits (unless you sincerely seek a hobby in your life for a couple years).
